Community
In spite of its size, the San Fernando Valley is known for a strong, cohesive community. The Valley's population averages between 1 and 1.5 million people which, if the Valley itself was one city, would probably rank among the top ten largest cities in U.S. Much of the Valley, however, is still within the city limits of Los Angeles and is composed of numerous smaller cities.

Economy
Strategically located on the Pacific Rim, the Valley is known for its workforce in the industries of technology and entertainment. In fact, about half of the residents here hold professional or managerial positions. And while the commute to Los Angeles may be accomplished via Interstate 5 and 210, and Highway 118, 60% of the Valley's residents work in the Valley itself. With entertainment giants MCA/Universal, Warner Bros. and The Disney Co. in the area, some figures indicate that upwards of 70% of entertainment-related companies may be located in the Valley.
